Emerald Skate Programme
The Emerald Skate program is a
nationally recognised Learn-to-Skate Program developed by the ISAI which teaches
the fundamentals of skating to novice skaters. The
main objectives of the Emerald Skate program are to develop a skater’s
confidence and skills on the ice; to provide a fun and safe skating experience
for the beginner as well as the more advanced skater; to develop a finer degree
of coordination and balance; to teach correct technique of basic elements
of figure skating.
Awards and incentives are used to motivate
the skater to achieve and develop skills. The skater is tested on competent
demonstration of the skills at each level. On successfully passing the skater
will progress to the next level. Eventually leading to
the National and Competitive test structures.
